What other support is available to me?

SAMARITANS: Call 116 123 (UK)

Whatever you're going through, you can call Samaritans free any time, from any phone on 116 123. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. If you feel you need an immediate response please reach out to them. You do not have to be suicidal to contact the Samaritans.

The NHS maintain an excellent database of national helplines and charities available to offer professional and specialist advice on mental health issues. Access it here.

The following are Essex based organisations available to offer advice and guidance:


ESSEX RESPITE AND CARE ASSOCIATION - website 

Help and support for carers of those aged 18-70 who would like planned respite.  


FAMILIES INFOCUS (ESSEX) - website

Holistic support for families of children and young people (aged 0 to 25) with disabilities and special needs across Essex, particularly at times of change, challenge and crisis. 


PARENTS' AID - website

Aims to help families stay together and achieve independence from state intervention by providing a range of services that assist and support parents who need help to overcome difficulties.
